I believe in telling stories. Stories through words, through pictures, through really excellent design, through music, through academic research and data visualization. Stories bring us together and help us learn and grow. In all parts of my work, I try to tell a story.
I've always called myself a Renaissance woman, partly because it's been so hard to choose just one career path! But all of the things I love - concise writing, clean design, perfect grammar, interesting data analysis - come together in the field of communications. My special sauce comes from: a good sense of humor, an interest in social justice, and a strong belief in the power of minimal design.
"Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing." - Benjamin Franklin
Born and raised in Chicago, I'm proud to still call the city home. The Midwest breeds practical people, and, spiced with the intellectual curiosity of the University of Chicago, my innate practicality informs all of my work. I work at the intersection of usable and beautiful.
