New Years Resolutions

Read at least 100 books in 2017. I made this resolution last year and downloaded the awesome app Bookling to keep track. I only hit about 50 books in 2016, but this year's my year!

Be more practical about my life activities. It's great to have hobbies--but it doesn't hurt to make a living at the same time!

Write more. I know I'll never be able to journal everyday or even just jot down thoughts regularly, but accepting that and choosing to write whenever possible is a good start.

Do yoga at home. Last year I bought a really nice yoga mat so that I could do some yoga at home... and then never did. Story of my life? In any case, I'm going to try adding some morning and evening routines to my schedule.

Cook more and do meal planning. This is kind of a two-for-one, but they're related. Despite working from home, I get to the end of the day and just don't have the energy to do any real cooking. Making large dishes in advance to space out through the week will help.

Say yes more often. It's so easy to talk yourself out of a fun or interesting proposition because of social anxiety or fear. Time to fix this! My plan is to say yes now and worry about it later. Hopefully, this will lead to some interesting experiences in 2017!

Practice positivity. It's really no surprise that going into 2017, I'm feeling a bit grim about the future. The situation in our country, our world, and even here at home seems pretty dire, but instead of griping, this will be a year of thinking positively and practically--working toward solutions and doing my part!
There's a great deal more I hope to do with my year, but these were the first to pop to the top of my head. Leave me a comment, and let me know what your resolutions are for 2017!
